For the next 4 months Wirral Young Labour are beginning a food bank appeal (#wylfoodbankappeal) as foodbank usage is set to reach an all time high. We are raising this campaign so that we can make a difference in opposition.
On Sunday 23rd August, at 7pm (doors open at 6:30pm), we are kicking off the appeal with a ‘Variety Show’ featuring fantastic bands, singers, poets and MP speakers. There will also be a raffle and a free buffet on the night.
Where: Parr Street Studios, 33-45 Parr Street, L1 4JN, Liverpool
The entrance fee is ‘pay what you can afford’ (whether that is 50p of £50, we want all to be able to attend) and a food item/items donation for the food bank.
The food banks we are supporting are Wirral and Liverpool Trussell Trust. The majority of the money will be donated to them, whilst a small amount will return to the Wirral Young Labour group’s hardship fund so that we can ensure our less well off young members are able to take part in all events, regardless of their financial position.
After this event the next 4 months will consist of us doing various fundraising activities across the Wirral and we will release the final amount raised in December.
We are hoping to make a real difference here, so we want all of Merseyside Young Labour to join us on 23rd August!
You can pay on the door but if you have any queries or feel you may be able to help us with the event with regards to raffle prizes, helping us to make a buffet or anything else then please email: firstname.lastname@example.org or call Jasmin on: 07814734944
