Manchester Metrolink revamped by EU funding

Shadow Transport Secretary Lilian Greenwood MP came to Manchester to visit the new upgrades to the Metrolink which were part funded by EU Regional Development fund and highlight how important it is that we vote to remain in the EU in the referendum.

Lilian was joined by Jeff Smith MP for Manchester Withington and Councillor Andrew Fender. They visited the upgrades in St Peter's Square as well as the newly revamped Deansgate/Castlefield stop. Developments such as this are vital for Manchester and the region in order to function as a modern city and attract investment.

At a time when the Tories have continually left the North down, with severe cuts to services and much lower levels of government investment, EU investment is vital.

Britain’s world-leading businesses across the North of England know that a vote to leave the EU would damage investment and prosperity across the North.
